Cruisin’ is the second volume of the “wet road movie” Trisha Baga and Jessie Stead began aboard Royal Caribbean’s massive cruise ship Oasis of the Seas in 2014. The second largest cruise ship in the world, the Oasis carried a record setting number of passengers successfully across the Atlantic Ocean for 12 days at sea. Along with co-star Phillip John Velasco Gabriel, Baga and Stead re-purpose the Oasis's widely varied and often peculiar amenities as movie sets and production studios for an improvised 3D video odyssey. Known collectively as The Special Group, the three artists tangle the ship’s unwitting fellow passengers, professional entertainers, staff, and nautical crew into a transatlantic anti-epic as they embody interrelated, shape-shifting alter egos in a parallel reality. The first volume of Cruisin’ was exhibited at The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Poland, two weeks after the Oasis docked in Barcelona, Spain on September 12, 2014.
